In Summer 2024, I collaborated with Australian Substack newsletter writer Monique Mulligan on a Blackout Poetry Exchange in which we invited anyone to join, organized who everyone would send their poetry to, and laid out some guidelines. Approximately 45 people joined in from North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. I decided to send a piece of blackout poetry to each participant, using a National Geographic as my base for the pages. Here’s what that looked like:
